Redefining cancer care with young people

Our new project with Assistant Chief Nurse Alison Finch at UCLH focusses on the needs of young people who are living with cancer. It examines how ‘ambulatory’ care not only provides patients with excellent healthcare but also promotes and supports freedom, trust and agency so that they can be active partners in their treatment while also staying connected to their lives outside of the hospital environment.

Through active co-design we are helping Alison communicate this important work so that other NHS trusts and third sector organisations can understand what this approach to cancer care can achieve, why it is a valuable alternative to in-patient or out-patient care and how they might implement this way of caring for young people in their hospitals.

We’ll be producing a digital guide and helping Alison to promote her work through presentations and her social and organisational networks.
